Lots of folks here often want to know what the various surgical repairs entail and what the differences between them are. Here's a site that explains them, with drawings:
http://www.sbhcs.com/hospitals/saint_barnabas/mservices/surgery/barot-publ.html

Remember: If you wind up favoring one of these solutions over another for yourself, please realize that not all surgeons know how to do them all. Not all surgeons believe in them. You will need to shop a lot and get references.

It is my impression that most surgeons who handle repairs do lap Nissens. They do not necessarily have expertise in other repairs. Someone else might be able to post statistics that confirm or refute this.

For any of you that are interested in the HH repair/Nissen Fundoplication surgery, you can watch a 6 minute video by going to the old message board. On the left margin click on "healthology" then look for "high tech surgery".
Verrrry Interesting.
