Seriously looking for answers and help with severe gerd and lpr please!!!

I know i am a member on here, and i gave you some advice on your threads and even on the posts on here. I am hoping you are having better luck and i eased your mind and worries and gave you all the right info you all wanted . Anyways here is what i am going threw. I have had trouble and difficulity swallowing and eating and drinking and even my own saliva. for 3 mths now and cont.. I have had a barium swallow test for the . dysphagia. i had one with me eating food and with barium on it , and it was a video one .. second I AM IN PAIN MASSIVE. went to 3 ent drs all say it is my larynx that is inflammed and swollen due to the acid from my stomach, causing it to backflow up to the back of my larynx. i had the fiberscope done 3 times with all 3 ents . even one ent showed me it on video as he was doing it . i have tried prevacid, aciphex, nexxium, priolsec, and protonix. and even the reg liquid antacids. nothing works at all. i even gargle . it feels as if something is stuck in my throat, and choking feeling, and the larynx area feels internally like a huge bulge . i have had bouts of gerd , before when i was age 16 up till now . but this is unreal and unliveable type. my case on all this is . so yes i have lpr . what tests to be done dont know ? they wont tell me ? the ents. i as well am still taking prevacid 3 times a day a high dose. it is not helping at all . i been suffering now 3mths and going on with no answers, i am losing weight , losing my mind , losing my voice, it is hoarse , and raspty , and cuts in and out , and sounds awful , i clear my throat alot , and i cough at night , i am feeling nausea , and sick to the stomach, and as well i am .Im trying to make this short but it is hard . cause i have alot of history , and i have not seen any posts as my symptoms i am having . yet . anyways i have severe gerd and lpr as well . what a great combo huh ! i have upper abdominal pain and lower abdominal pain , and i dont burp i have air burps even if that . and im in 99% of the time in pain. sleeping is hard to do .. when you are so very very umcomfortable in gerd and lpr. as well i have nothing to upset the gerd as in diet wise. and i elevate as they say to when i sleep for a few hours i do get when i sleep. i have shortness of the breath , and no i have no asthma. it is not anxiety . have a pysch it is all real . not pyschosomatic realted. as well i have a hyperthyroid and all. but that is another story .. this i am more concerned about and with .. i have an endocrine dr who is taking care of the thyroid and it is not that. my drs are and gastro and cardo . and im fine with all ends. just not with the gastro side and ent side i guess. i feel as if my airway on my upper abdominal is cutting off my air way . and it is and i get a knawing , stabbing pain that does not go away . only tests they are sending me for is these.. which i had before .. upperendscopy and a hida scan with cck to rule out gall bladder. again . both tests i had last yr . but it was nothing as severe as this is. and has been. for the past couple of days when i wake up , i have drool like stuff out of my mouth , yet .. not being disgusting , but that is the best way i can describe it , it is from my mouth all over and on the way down to my chin. i have ever ever had this ever ever, so it has to be acid flowing out when i am asleep and wake up cause there is no none on my pillow. my nurse friend as well. as i am a nurse to with all 3 degrees in rn , lpn, cna. and even my cardo said that is is my acid flowing up and out , and u can aspirate. if it proceeds .. anyways testings my gastro is sending me for sorry for the long dragged on story. are the hida scan with cck . and upperendoscopy, and upper gi series of me drinking barium to see if my esophageal is delayed when swallowing. i asked for it and eventually a ph test .. is there any other tests for lpr ? or the esphogeous? or pharynx. and larynx. and most of all my les muscle to get to the bottom of this all . any help would be greatly appreciated and so kind of you all .. im lost what to do . i need to get and see if my pharynx and larynx and my espogheous and my les is ok . and all .. and are there any treatments.. im barely hanging on here .. Please help .. btw what is a pharyngeal Probe ? and its uses ? and what is it about and look for ? and is the Ph Test awful .. ? and what is about i know it measures the acidity , but what else? and what does it feel like. and i double over as well to. see this is very complex and very trying.

you're in so much pain, and wish I knew the answers as to why you are, but its awful isn't it? Sometimes when I'm having horrendous (sometime, ha, more like everytime) heartburn, I'll use the deep breathing that I learned in Lamazus class because the pain comes in waves and concentrating on deep breathing seems to help. Do you feel that way too?

I don't post here very often because it isn't me who has GERD - its my son. However, your post really got to me. I feel for you and know from watching my son how severe the pain can be. Have you seen a GI yet? If not, you should see a GI and get testing done including a scope to see what's going on in your esohagus.

I hope you are able to find some relief. A lot of people get relief from Carafate which will coat the esophagus especially any raw, ulcerated areas.

Thank you but no i do deep relaxtion and all and deep breathing techiques , nothing helps, at all.. new update my gastro reffered me to another high tech gastro to have all new testings done , such as the ph test done, and the esophageal manometry, done . so far that is what my other gastro reffered this guy to do , and he is suppose to be good the other gastro he is in the highest hospital around in ny and works out of there . hopefully and soon they will get to the botton of this all mess and tragic mess , and awful feeling . then i guess the new gastro will run other tests as well to see what is going on as well . his own testings. but i am waiting for an apptointment to get in there to see him and for the testings and all . but yet i find this quirky , dont you all ? my other gastro i was seeing after he did the upperendoscopy he said my dx was esophagitis. but he took biospys as well . but a few days later when i called him up for the results , he said i have no gerd or very little acid going on .. hmmm makes you wonder if he is up for a lawsuit soon.. grrrrrr.. second he said the stuff he told me coming out of my mouth was phlegm not acid , and to see another ent , or endocrince dr.. i seen 3 ents already .. but to cover all grounds i will see this new gastro soon when i get in there and see a ent again and see what is going on .. with my esophageous. and oh the biospys were normal, the gastro who is referring me else where is a pure donkey *** . he says its is my thyroid and my throat .. im not hearing it at all , im not dumb , and if i have no gerd why did he dx me with it for .. hmm.. allo f sudden i don't have it .. i have bouts of gerd from the time i was 16 but never like this.. second .. he is really trying my patience the old gastro is , now hopefully when i go see this guy the other gastro he will have the answers and he has all the proper testings to do for me and all to see what is going on .. and check this out my other gastro dr never!!! checked me for esophageal motility .. hmmm.. huh.. yeah well i will get to the bottom of it like i said and i have an endocrine dr ( thyroid) and she says no so far . and second i will be getting an appt with an ent again to double check .. and if all shows and tells that my old gastro who is reffering to another one with more experience and more technology in testing wise and is the highest as in the best hospital wise in nys . then i will surely for sure go after the other gastro for a medical lawsuit .. but thanks for your caring and understanding . i appreciate it very much .. that was my new update to all ..

yes i have a gastro and an endocrine and ents. still no noanswers i posted up on what is is my new update on here what is going on .. im getting fed up with this and this is uncalled for . and not nesscary at all .. my pst is up on how i am now and my update .. but i really appreciate you taking the time out to post one to me . i think that was sweet and genuine of you .. i hope your son gets well and feels better soon. i will say a prayer for him :) take care

You have alot going on and you will have to find a good and I mean good gi dr to figure it all out. You need to find one that has patience in treating difficult cases. Gerd especially lpr can be very hard to treat. It can take months of being on meds to get relief. With lpr diet is also very important. You will need to really stay away from foods that cause systoms. I have gerd with barretts and my les was no longer working but my gerd can be easier to treat than yours. Again you really need to find the right dr. Go with your gut feeling if you meet this dr and things dont feel right dont waste your time KEEP LOOKING. You have a big part to in doing what you need to do for treatment to work. Lifestyle changes are the hardest thing to conquer. Best of luck hope you find a great dr to help you out here.

Since your doc now says that there is no acid or gerd going on, then the pain may be neurolgical.
It is still doubtful that all your symptoms could
be present and acid not be a contributor.

Even though you say you have had reflux since you were 16, did you do some heavy lifting of patients
prior to your symptoms getting so bad?
Is there a hiatal hernia?

Have you ever tried Neurontin?

Has the doc drawn blood to test for antibody titres to Herpes Zoster (shingles)?

Have you had tests to rule out Lyme disease?
How about your vitamin B12 levels?

Have you had your pancreatic enzymes checked?

How are your sinuses?

Hi Gerd can't be diagnosed on just an endoscopy -- over half of people with gerd have negative endoscopys -- so the doctor can't speculate until a ph test and manometry are done.

For a whole year i was told i didnt have gerd-- first they said it was the effects of a torn muscle -- then when i went to a GI he said i was suppressing a tramatic choking experience from childhood--he said thats why i couldn't swallow.

They need data to officially diagnose GERD A ph test confirmed i had it Don't worry about crazy doctors- i've seen a few myself. Have your tests -- and it will probably be you who ultimately figures everything all out.
