This is information you should have gotten from your doctor when he/she prescribed the medications. If you haven't had them prescribed yet, get these answers from the doc.

I plan on doing that. But I want some comments from those who USE these drugs. Practical assistance. Its a proper question in this forum. Thanks for the assistance.

i will try to help you out a bit. I take protonix 2x a day right now. i use to take it once a day but that wasnt controlling the symptoms so they uped me to 2x a day and its been a world of difference. i had been on nexuim before but protonix works best for me. i have also used aciphex and that seemed pretty good also. I guess give one a try and then if it doesnt work have the doc give you another one to try. I have LPR so i think they recommend the 2x a day to help heal. If you have Gerd 1x a day might do the trick.. good luck..

Baseball6 - there are no standard answers to your questions. The amount of medicine you will need will depend on how much you personally require to control your symptoms.

You say you want "comments" but you don't say what sort of comments you would like except asking what dose you should take and when. Unfortunately, as LSAT says, we really can't tell you what dose/timing is best for you.

However, if you're looking for other people's personal experiences, well here is mine. I take Nexium, which for me works best at 20mg twice daily, about 30 minutes before meals. I haven't found other medication to be as effective.

But as you yourself say, everyone's different. There are no short cuts to just trying the medication yourself at different doses and times to see what works best for you.

Aciphex caused me worse heartburn and pain.

I'm back on Zantac right now but still have occasional pains and the feeling of a lump in my throat
