I am new here and have been reading posts. Back in Dec, I was diagnosed with bronchitis (1st time) and was put on Zithromax. For the 5 days I was on it I had very little appitite, therefore I basically was taking it on a empty stomach. Now it seems that my stomach has been gurgling all the time, full or empty. I also feel a little lump in my throat and a little gurgling there as well. I don't experience nausas, heartburn or have excess gas. I was wondering if the Zithromax irritated the lining of my stomach therefore causing GERD. I am 46 and being put on Zithromax was my 1st ever perscription other than pre-natal vitamins (years ago). I prefer natural remedys. Does anyone have a natural remedy for me to try and is there a diet to follow and what foods should I avoid. Thanks for your help.

I believe Zithromax is an antibiotic. All antibiotics can cause stomach trouble because they kill the good bacteria in the stomach. You need to replace this with a supplement such as Acidophilus or by eating "live" yoghurt.

It's possible that the lump in the throat is caused by GERD, so if it doesn't go away then ask your doctor about it.
