Hi,

I was diagnosed with Barretts Esophagus (low grade) in 2000. In Januray 2001 I had Lap Nissen surgery. I have since continued to have problems with acid reflux and have continued taking medication since surgery. In October 2003 I had severe bout of reflux, gastro doc pushed my endoscopy up by 4 months. No major changes discovered. At his suggestion a CT Scan was done to determine if there was something else causing the problems. A tumor was discvered on my left Kidney. In January 2004 (3 years to the day of Nissen surgery) I had surgery to remove 1/3 of my left Kidney.

There were so many things going on since the cancer was discovered that I really have not had time to comprehend that I am now a cancer survivor who is currently in remission.

I have just come to the realization that I should talk to my gastro about this to see what the impact of having had cancer could be to my Barretts Esophagus. I am meeting with him May 10.

I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similiar situation?

Sorry for the long post.

Best regards to everyone,
Bill
