What is this pain??

I have been having severe reflux and heartburn this week. That finally calmed down after upping my meds.. Now I have pain in my right abdomin by my ribs. Went to ER last night and they thought is was gallbaldder. Unfortunately, we have over 2 ft of snow and they could not do ultrasound. They did CT scan w/out contrast and it showed nothing. Gave me some good IV painkillers and sent me home. Now, the pain is back in same place. Spoke with GP and he is going to send me for ultrasound when things open back up. What is this pain?? Please help!!

Even if you were in the same room, I wouldn't know what your pain is -- I'm not a doctor. If I were you, I'd find a GI specialist (rather than continuing to use your GP), and I would definitely get the ultrasound once the snow is cleared. Is your GP thinking that the ultrasound will reveal whether you have gallstones?

Yes, my GP thinks it is gall stones. I have a GI doc, but with the weather he was not in today. I am going to get in there to see GI as soon as I can.
