Ok, here's a silly question to discuss. How in the world do you pronounce "Prilosec". My GI and PCP pronounce it two different ways and I have always pronounced it differently from them.

I say:

pry-low-seck

I've also heard:

pre-low-seck

and

prih-low-seck (prih prounounced like privy)

How do you pronounce it? Does anyone know the "correct" way (i.e. the way the manufacture intended it)? I think I'll just start calling it omeprazole :)

In TV commercials the manufacture pronounces it with a long I and O.

Pry-low-sec

Everyone knows that if it is that way on TV it 'must' be correct
... :)

Ah ha! I've never seen a Prilosec commercial on TV; I've only seen Nexium and Prevacid as far as PPIs go. I think I'll try and say it as many times as possible during my next dr.'s visit. :)

Hi Dante,

You could always refer to it as the "Other" Purple pill!! Course in some places, it's purple/pink!! :D

Prayers,
