The BARRx Ablation Procedure for Barrett's esophagus is designed to remove the thin layer of esophageal epithelium containing intestinal metaplasia.
In the procedure, the BARRx Controller and BARRx RF Ablation Catheter work together to ablate a large epithelial surface area while limiting depth of injury1. Energy delivery is automated and rapid: circumferential RF energy delivery to 3 centimeters of esophageal tissue is completed in less than one second. The BARRx procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis, under conscious sedation.
