I have had GERD for 3 years (diagnosed), in December it was found that I now have Barretts. I have been taking prevacid all this time and Doc has now increased it to two 30 mg pills a day, one in the morning and one at night. Recently I have noticed changes taking place and wonder if anyone else has experienced any of this?
1. Having a hard time breathing
2. Hurts to take deep breaths, mostly at the bottom of throat area and down about 2 inches.
3. Have become very tired (assumed because I am not getting enough oxegyn?)
4. Hard time swallowing, feeling of having something stuck in my throat (this has been for about 6 months already, that's why Doc did a scope in December)
5. Over the three years that I have been on prevacid I have gained 25 pounds and struggle to keep weight down.
6. A sensation of cold air when I breath. I don't know how else to describe this but when I breath in it almost feels like I have been sucking on a mint, the air feels cool. This is almost all the time now.
I meet with my doc in 2 weeks to update him on these new conditions but hope I can hear from others who may have had similar symptoms. I like to be well informed before I meet with my doc.
