I suffer from GERD and anxiety, I'm taking Nexium and it was working great. I switched my anxiety med. to zoloft and was still okay. The doc uped my does to 100mgs. and a few days later I started experiencing burning in the chest (heartburn). Has anyone had this happen. ?? I also heard that sometimes PPI's stop working, and you need to switch to a different one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Linda

My doctor says that I build up a tolerance to PPI's so we switch to a different one for about 20 days, then go back. Seems to work in the past. I am post fundoplication so going off PPI's right now. Hope you get to feeling better.

My doctor says that you can get a build up affect from PPI's and we switch out to a different one for about 20 days. That seems to do the trick. I am post fundoplication, so cutting down on PPI's right now. Hope that you feel better.
