Here's one...I'm on 40mg of Nexium. If and when I feel cruddy it's USUALLY in the AM (which is when i take the pill) now my cruddy is stomach crummy NOT heartburn.
So...I'm thinking i can take the Nexium BEFORE bed, this way maybe I'll sleep through the bad time?
I say that because EVERY night is usually when I feel my best...i don't wake up with problems like some of you do. (i know...lucky me)
when do you all take your meds? Does anyone find that it matters?

My heartburn is controlled by Pepcid 20mg before breakfast and Pepcid 40mg before bed. When I started having LPR symptoms (scratchy throat, hoarseness and achy neck) my doctor added Nexium 40mg before supper.....I never had problems at night so I was skeptical...but it worked.

Before my FUNDO I was taking nexium 40mg in the morning before eating and then again at dinner time. Also I was taking axid in addition to that at bedtime, nothing worked as my LES was not functioning. But for you Lee, why don't you try Nexium twice a day and see if that helps. By the way, where in NJ are you from and who is your doctor? I am from NJ too.

funny you should ask
I'm from East Brunswick...but my Dr. is in Springfield. A Dr. Kerner...who I am NOT very happy with...
you??
My complaint isn't the heartburn though...it's my stomach which i think MORE nexium would aggrivate.

I am from Bloomfield, right next to Clifton and Montclair. Maybe you should change your doctor if you don't like the current one. I am very happy with my GI doctor who is alway helpful. If you want give him a call and see if you can get an appointment. His name is Dr. Vitaly Fishbein and he is in West Orange. E-mail me for his phone number if you want to give it a try. Ask webmaster for my e-mail address.

You are north...well...
I JUST scheduled an Upper GI to rule out anything else. I've also scheduled a consult with a Top Dr. at Mount Sinai for next Thursday...

Hmmm, don't know him hehe. But if you ever come across considering the FUNDO surgery, go to Dr. Barry Salky. Good luck and keep us posted.
