Effexor

Hi guys, I just have a question. I am taking Effexor for 6 days and I am experiencing some bad side effects (nausia, headaches, muscle stiffness, neck tightness and extreme sleepiness and dizzyness, as well as some acne) so I deceided to go back on Paxil. Do you think I can just stop Effexor cold turkey? I mean I only used it for 6 days and the dosage is the lowest possible, so I don't think I will have any withdrawal problems. What do you think? I don't want to take it too long because then I may have more problems. I used Paxil before and it was started to work a little at 10mg so my doc told me to go to 20mg and I had extreme sweats so he swithced me to Effexor XR after just two weeks of Paxil. I believe Paxil will work good for me, I just think I need to stay on 10mg for longer before I progress to 20 or more mg. Please let me know, any advice is really appreciated.

Milan, I experimented with a few SSRI samples a while back, I think that it was Zoloft, Paxil, and Celexa. I took each for a week or so, and didn't like the side effects, so finally gave up. Zero withdrawal.

Patrick, thank you for your reply. I called my doctor and he said to take it for another week and then stop, but I am going to stop it today because the side effects are pretty bad. I don't like my doctor that prescribed it anyway. I started with Paxil and didn't have many side effects for two weeks. I think it was actually starting to work but my psychiatrist told me to go up from 10mg to 20 mg and then I had some problems, so he switched me to Effexor. He didn't give Paxil enough time for it's full effect and swithced me and effexor just isn't working with me good. I actually called Effexor company and they told me same thing, that I should have no withdrawal after just a week. Thanks a lot Patrick.
