Prevacid

Has anyone experienced the metaillic taste in your mouth from Prevacid? Any way to relieve it??

I am on Nexium and don't have this bad of after taste but a friend is suffering with it on Prevacid.. Any help appreciated. Thanks

The metallic taste is most likely from acid (reflux) and not the Prevacid. I've had this taste while being on PPIs and while being off PPIs.

The obvious answer is to switch to Nexium
It works much better for me I could never tolerate Prevacid

Hi Woody,

I agree with Dante, the Metallic Taste is most likely from the Acid Reflux itself. I had the YUKY Taste on and off of PPIs.

The obvious for YOU is to switch to Nexium. Everybody is different. What you have to do is Experiment with PPIs and find the one that works best for the particular individual with the fewest side-effects. :)

I never had a metallic taste from Prevacid, Prilosec or Nexium.

I agree with Tom. Prevacid worked great for me...except for the very low probability side effect that I had a harder time thinking and concentrating (it's on the drug datasheet as a possible side effect). Prilosec and Nexium didn't work as well, but I used them long term (at different times :)) because they didn't have any side effects (for me). Everyone's different.
