I am curious why you would think I am concerned about diabetic neuropathy. I am not diabetic but do suffer from neuropathy. The valves I was talking about are the cheek valves on your face. The Dr is going to drill a hole on each side of my face and raise the valves (like the Breathe Right nasal strips) when I get to moving around I can not get enough oxygen. I do suffer from asthma and have not had to use as much rx meds since I had the Nissen fundo. I have two many Dr's that cannot seem to put everything together. I was being treated for chronic fatigue syndrome for several years. It was getting so bad that I had to will myself to get up out of a chair, even scarier if I had to drive. One day my allergy Dr asked me if I snored. After my reply she sent me for a sleep study. Most of the chronic fatigue is gone.

Hi Jean,

I was not saying that you were concerned about diabetic neuropathy, but if I had any neuropathy
and was overweight, getting tested would be
one of the first things that I would ask for.

Being short of breath can be due to simply not breathing deeply enough or having chronic tiredness due to a hidden infection or a vitamin defficiency.

Most people who find that they can not breath deeply enough through their nose use their mouth
when they exercise or need more than a little air.

Acid reflux can also damage delicate lung tissue
and reduce lung efficiency.
Let me know if anything I have said makes sense
and I will try to post some appropriate links.

Take care..
