Quick question--does stopping h2 blockers (like zantac) abruptly cause acid rebound like stopping PPI's does?

Stopping H2 blockers means that the acid is no longer being "mopped up" so your acid symptoms could return. However, I'm not sure whether they actually cause the stomach to produce extra acid, causing a rebound of extra acidity.

H2Blockers don't "mop up" acid...they inhibit the secretion of gastric acid. They are Histamine H2 receptor antagonists.
I believe there may be acid rebound if stopped abruptly after long term use.
